The Bike – Old c1980 Marin steel Mountain Bike with 18 gears and road tyres. I could have bought a brand new bike but this bike has served me well and I will trust it will not let me down.

Cooking – Primus Omnifuel multifuel stove – Will take/buy small gas canisters where possible and also use Unleaded petrol/paraffin. Aluminium Windshield.
Trangia cooking pan with handle – will double as eating bowl since most meals will be from the one-pot menu.
10 litre Ortleib water bag plus water purifying tablets
Aquapure portable water purifier bottle.
